The house has bitten the cannibal Are you the next one? You're the next one Can it be that one? I'd like to know He's breathing He's fine I'm fine I'm alive Oh dear God And he's coming 'round the track Because he's a motherfucking freak Getting into the spirit of things Getting it in the spirit of things Getting it Getting in Getting it in Getting it into the spirit of things All's too loud, let's get quiet That's better That's so much better So much better So much fucking better Look at this number in front of you What does it mean? What does it fucking mean? You sexy, beautiful fucking disgrace? Has the house bitten them both? "They're coming over the horizon as we speak" There's something there That can last forever THAT CAN LAST FOREVER But they care They'll make it work Goddamn, damn it, damn They're coming closer now You can deal in the end Three words, two saved. You are You are raw, abundant Message in the fucking disgrace A positive message in a disgrace All of them All are dead All of them are dead All of them are fucking dead All of them but us WE will survive Love, dead We'll get there It's in our grasp, you beautiful person

about

'Daysore,' the debut noise/ambient EP by Max Mobarry (Others by No One), 23 minutes, 4 tracks.

"'Any song that ever originated in a person's imagination and was translated into notes and words is inherently inferior to its potential.'

- Jeff Tweedy, who I don't know but had a good quote to start with

A year and a half since recording commenced for 'Book II,' the massive upcoming prog epic from my band Others by No One - I'm tired.
Doing it all yourself, in little old Ohio. A worldwide catastrophe really makes you redefine what you call 'free time.'

Coming around to that quote... For a long, long time I have hesitated when it comes to releasing collections of my own solo music. I have literally hundreds of my own songs, but without the resources to always get a professional mixing job, or record a host of guest musicians to bring my more insane rock and extreme metal stuff to life (particularly in the case of live drums) I've instead spent most of my 'free time' doubling down on our existing ObNO work to keep myself moving.

Finally, one morning, I woke up and decided that waiting for that perfect moment, for that perfect debut, had to end.

I've got so much crazy shit to show you.
'Daysore' is my pretty ugly beginning.

Daysore? Like a blemish, or a blight upon your day. This assemblage of noise tracks explores the feeling when a day itself is rotten from the start.

The songs of 'Daysore' share a distinction of each piece being written and recorded within a single session. These initial ideas would be gathered and remixed together during the Halloween season of 2020, with much of the music dating back years. Opening track 'Seethemeal' (That's 'seethe·meal,' as funny as the song title 'See the Meal' may be) is my most recent foray into ambient music, juxtaposed with the 10-minute centerpiece 'Three Words, Two Saved' - my very first attempt at making experimental harsh noise, revisited for the first time since 2015 and polished into a journey I didn't know I could be so proud of.

...At least, as 'polished' as you can expect from 'experimental noise.'

The songs of 'Daysore' truly are a reflection of what it's like to be me. Big hair, prog, perfect pitch, music all the time, the neverending dread. And so, as spontaneously as these musical ideas came to me - the time has come to share who I am with the world.
Let's get the music ball rolling. I have another EP of relatively more 'proper songlike' music well underway, and of course there's always 'Book II.'

Thank you for the support during this ridiculous, frankly frightening period. Losing out on gigs has made this year real tough on me and the ObNO gang, you know what it's like.

And we are in this together.
