about
"The Feeling of Inside the Woods" from "The Salt Fork Sessions" Live, Episode One.
For a long, long time I have hesitated when it comes to releasing my own solo music. I have literally hundreds of my own songs, but without the resources to consistently collaborate with professional recording studios and producers (specifically mixing/mastering my work) I've instead been spending most of my 'free time' doubling down on completing existing work for "Book II," the proper full-length album debut from my band Others by No One, which took over a year to record and is currently being mixed by Jamie King and the band.
What a long sentence, I'm sorry if you didn't take a big breath beforehand.
Anyway. One morning this fall, I woke up and decided that the wait for the perfect moment, for that "perfect" debut release to get myself out there, had to end.
"THE FEELING OF INSIDE THE WOODS" finally came together in the early months of quarantine, but feels truly at home in this spooky time of year. I'd never attempted a live recording like this before, but last month on a week-long retreat into the woods I made the decision to grab a few mics and do this all myself in the time of COVID - It was incredible doing a full set on the lake and there will be more performances coming to you in the future.
I am also officially announcing two upcoming solo releases under my own name, one of which should be out in the next month or so. They're wildly different, and more will be revealed in the coming weeks.
Enjoy my trick AND treat for you, this Halloween season. Please keep up with my band Others by No One and our PROGress on "BOOK II."
Expect much more music from this cute curly-haired artist very soon. 🎶
lyrics
Breaking down
I’m just a hero
That can’t stop eating, breathing, shitting
Stepping on a trap
That’s made for you and me
That sprains the human knee
I should have stayed home
For man is dancing in the dark
My heart goes like a stream
To where my leg is bleeding out again
The youngest wound’s the end
The forest moving in
The trees, the bastards
They are imitating friends

One of the best debuts in 2020. Wacky, well-constructed, and quite infectious (as you'll quickly discover). For fans of Mr. Bungle, System of a Down, and Maximum the Hormone. Max Mobarry
Up-and-coming solo artist Jackie Frank Russell is a bright light in the future of experimental/metal music, and has more albums than you can shake a stick at. Check them out and find a new favorite. Max Mobarry
The long-awaited new concept album from OTHERS BY NO ONE.
75 minutes of extreme music connected by a series of short stories. Strange days are coming... Max Mobarry

Soaring theatrical catchy rock and pop tunes that are not boring and segue and evolve linearly from one to the next. If they sound this big with DIY production, imagine how insanely huge they’d sound with big time production. Sound in the neighborhoods of Bowie, Floyd, and Cardiacs. This whole record moves me and I can’t pick a favorite song. marc_ian
Marvelous experimental music from this Tel Aviv musician that fuses outré noise with almost folk-like arrangements. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 13, 2022
